What I do

I charge my sessions on a "pay what you can" basis. I had a sliding scale for a while, but people who needed my work would often wait until they could pay the maximum of the scale, which would mean that I never saw them. Instead I now only have a minimum, as I still want to be as accessible as possible to folx with lower incomes. If you have the means to pay more for your session I request that you do so to balance out those who see me who do not, but that is never a requirement, just something that is greatly appreciated. The market price of the work I offer is often around $120-150/hour, but I would much rather see you for my minimum price than not at all.

Bodywork sessions; pay what you can, $60/hour minimum

The goal of these sessions is relief from physical pain. I work differently than a lot of other massage therapists, my power comes from being very gentle and soft, and incredibly slow. I specialize primarily in myofascial release, which is very helpful for injury rehabilitation, chronic pain and chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia. I tend not to do much deep tissue or trigger point work unless it's the only way to get something to release. If you're wanting to feel like you got beaten up after you get off the table, or if you want the type of massage you would receive at a spa, I will lovingly advise you to book with a different therapist.

Somatic sessions; pay what you can, $50/hour minimum

The root of Somatic is "Soma", which is a Greek word referring to the felt sense of the body. Somatic practices have been really big news in the mental health field recently in the way that they're able to assist clients in rehabilitation from emotional trauma, which is the primary goal of these sessions. These sessions are lower cost for accessibility, as people who have lower incomes often have less privilege in terms of access to care for their trauma. Please note that the goal of these sessions is relief from emotional pain, not necessarily relief from bodily pain, though that can be a secondary effect from the treatment.
